About the Event

This space is for the expression of movement, kupu and korero.

Again this is a BIPOC centred space, please respect this.

Yes I am the pale skinned Māori from the city, and yes I am still Māori.

I have felt the power of a BIPOC-centred movement space only once in my life, it was powerful, it was brave, tender and magick!

I created this space with the help of my BIPOC OFI colleagues for the Open Floor Teachers in Training. Our teacher training will never be the same again. To be in a space that is BIPOC centred in the concious movement field, felt radical and radiant!

Not just Māori ~ the global majority!!!! SPECIAL!!!!

I am here to continue this mahi, and nurture our souls as we go along.

So if you are a black, indigenous or person of colour who likes to dance/move,

who keeps a journal/likes to write,

would like to be surrounded and supported in a space of noho herekore - liberation.

Where embodied inquiry gives space to access the intelligence of our bodies.

The written word helps harvest and navigate our lives..And current climate.

Korero Mai ~ Korero Atu because your voice and mine have something to share.

To be witnessed, to be heard in a collective of humans ~ that get it!

And of course ~ Maramataka awareness to track and travel with our cycles.

Sign up and register.

This space will be held in my studio at Makahuri,

For payment I ask for a koha and for you to bring kai to share at the end.

Mauri aroha. Kaia

Open to all genders.

Dates to be confirmed
