TE KANIKANI O TE TAIAO - THE DANCE OF OUR NATURAL WORLD

The kaupapa of this workshop is connection between nature and ourselves.

What happens in nature happens to us. There is no separation. 

At this time of High Spring, of Beltane, of Koanganui we feel the fertility of the life around us, 

sustaining us, bursting forward. 

It is the time of the green man, of the flowering Ti Kouka/cabbage tree. 

We taste the call of Summer right there on our lips. 

I view this workshop as an opportunity for you to connect with nga hua o Papatūānuku, the fruits of our earth. 

To find connection to the elements around us, the children of Papatuanuku // Tangaroa, Tawhirimatea, Tane Mahuta, to find connection to the body of water that connects all of Kāpiti, Te rau o te rangi, to Kāpiti Island. 

Using my creative weaving of movement, music, self exploration with creativity and dance.

I will create a space and help guide you into connection to this land, and the elements that are part of this natural environment.  Time to connect first with yourself, then with the world around you. 

To feel the embodiment of you and of the whenua/land that supports and sustains you. 

This workshop is to create real time awareness, of the changing energy of this season. 

To move and be moved by Taiao, to find the deeper listening, to ask the questions, and maybe even find some answers. Insights are guaranteed. Action is up to you.

This is an ART IN MOTION workshop, we will move and create with our bodys in space and on paper.

Friday Night will be the Dance of Beltane, THE DANCE OF FIRE!

And our tīmatanga/our beginning for this workshop // an OPEN community dance.

 

Saturday and Sunday will be the deeper enquiry to what it is to be you, in connection to nature. 

The gifts and insights that can be gathered when we take the time.

The investment for this workshop is $150 early bird until 28th September. $222 per human full price.

This is a non residential workshop, and food is not included in the price.

The weekend flow will look like this 

Friday night 630-830PM > Beltane Fire Dance. 

Saturday > 10-1pm Openfloor movement practice 

1-3pm > kai time, digest and rest. 

3-6pm > Open Floor movement practice 6-8pm > rest, find some kai, have a shower, do what you need. 

8-10pm > Sacred space, co created. 

Sunday >10- 12 OpenFloor movement 

12-1 kai time/food/digest

1-3pm Final creations and closing.

This workshop will only go ahead with enough participants, if I cancel you will receive a full refund of what you have paid. Cancelations and refunds. 

If you choose to cancle cancelled before 25th of October you will recieve a full refund minus $20 for Admin fee

after this time 50% of what you have paid will be refunded.
