Te Whai Ao, Te Ao Mārama - Spring Equinox
Time & Location
About the Event
It is at this point in our year, where there is a balance of light and dark.
Where things are equal, not more or less.
The day and night are not competing, they hold each other steady.
Meeting each other where they are at, no force...just as they are.
From Te Kore, Te Po through the many nights of darkness we arrive at Te Whai Ao...that glimmer of light.
The first light we will see on the horizon, Hine Ruhi our dawn maiden.
Releasing the realm of Te Po, and consciously choosing what comes into the light.
This is our journey for this wananga. YES, ALL OF THIS!!!AND...
In our world that is full of extremities, How do you find balance? cause it is not easy!
When the chaos that surrounds you gets too much.
How do you return to centre? again and again without being exhausted?
This weekend we give space to you as a creative being, to follow what is true for you.
To be the storm and the calm seas, to be all parts of yourself.
Resourced by the Open Floor Curriculum, guided by Auta Wahine!
In a place where taiao (nature) supports us.
Expression, presence, and healing.
We will find our balance,
our collective exhale and we will dance.
...because we need to Wahine ma, we need these spaces where we can be our true expressions.
Where turning up for ourselves is the new normal, where we are seen and appreciated just as we are,
This is the new normal. Let's create ritual, be expressive, land in peace, and our humanness...
and yes amongst it all, you find yourself reflected back in the faces of wahine and femme folk.
Circle with us as we sink deep into connection with taiao, nature
Dance for this life you live, that unbroken chain of tipuna, ancestors
Create and see past the veil of the conscious mind to the insights unfolding
Make sacred all that arrived in our space of āhurtanga.
Mauri Tū Mauri Ora. Mauri Tau
Then let it settle deep within you.
No push, no pull...just is.
To that place of our knowing, where we trust ourselves and our universal flow.
What to expect?
A dance floor where you will be nourished, find connection, solitude, and belonging.
Time to be left alone with nature. Creative processing to unleash some part of you that needs it.
Held by Atua Wahine in wananga space, non-violence, no judgments.
A weekend for all the things wahine ma, all the things.
