This class was one of the most helpful things I have done in my life! To get time with each of the above emotions, to better understand how they shape me, and the stories I tell about them - for myself and others - and to do this with creativity, movement and the written word has gifted me with an insight into my self that helps me every single day, every single iteration. I am a better Mother, teacher, friend, and human because of this class.
For those who do not know I am talking about Brenē Brown's book 'Atlas of the Heart'.
It is not necessary to own the book to do this class but is highly recommended.
Emotional intelligence, embodiment, and creativity are the teachers of the class. I will be here to facilitate using both the Open Floor Curriculum and Manahau Embodied Movement. I am not here to teach you how to draw!
I am here to provide a brave space for us to look at our biology, biography, behavior and backstory around emotions.
Yes of course it can be a bit icky! a bit challenging, and a whole lot rewarding!!
It is all of that, and more.
The centre will hold, if and only if, we can feel those edges - Brenē Brown!
The creative process lends itself to helping us with our unconscious knowing, and however, it works, our group body is here to also provide a space of practice. We will not get it right! but we can turn up to explore right relating.

each other. When we don't understand how our emotions shape our thoughts and decisions, we become disembodied from our own experiences and disconnected from each other!' -BB
