About the Event
Spring Equinox is a moment in time ⚖️ that marks the balance of our days.
We have moved from Te Kore Te Po,
and are now standing right on the threshold
Te Whai Ao, Te Ao Marama.
It is time to step into that change that has been brewing all winter and let flow that which needs to be shed.
We have done enough with what was, let us be with what is.
Right here. Right now.
It is yours for the creating, yours more for the making
At the end of this day 24th September!
We will know what we are standing with, and what matters for you right now!
Moving with courage into the light of this new season.
Tihei Mauri Ora!
What to expect.
We will spend this day in a sacred space, Āhurutanga.
Deliberately acknowledging and accepting where we are now.
A Dance Portal space to just dance, to find yourself in the music, in your body, and breathe.
To be nourished not only by the intimacy of coming home in community
but with the kai, ritual and the kindness of this Community.
For this process, we will move, bringing to awareness all our dimensions of embodiment.
The Four Dimensions of Embodiment
Tinana | Physical Body - Sensate awareness.
The core healing of Open Floor is to literally inhabit our bodies. The other embodiments are equally important, but hard to claim until sensate awareness has been opened, integrated, and stabilized. In other words, if we can't feel our bodies, it is unlikely that we can experience a full emotional life or know how our thoughts drive our actions.
Ngākau | Emotional Body - Emotional Intelligence
Emotional intelligence refers to being wise, resilient, creative, and at home in relation to our emotions and others'. Emotional embodiment is our capacity to feel emotion and stay present in all four domains of relationship.
Hinengaro | Mind Body - Mindfulness and imagination, creative Cognition.
The embodied mind contribution is to be open, awake, creative, intuitive, insightful, articulate, and discerning.
An embodied mind is open to the vast landscape of knowledge, intuition, and imagination while remaining connected to body and heart.
Wairua | Soul Body - Awake to Essence, Spirit, Unbounded Presence
The embodied soul is unification with something that lies within us and beyond us, experiencing life as meaning full, feeling our place in the larger field.
And then we stand at our Waharoa.
Supported by Taputeranga te motu, the beach, and Hinemoana.
We will create offerings, find our karakia, and mihi to all we are.
When we are attuned to our maramataka | cycle of nature surrendering to this moment of balance in our life becomes a dance. Letting the buds burst open, letting the light in.
